Day 4 A Day at Litchfield National Park

We ended up staying in Katherine longer than expected glad to be finally back in civilisation. We ended up setting off for Litchfield National Park only after lunch. At Litchfield we saw giant termite mounds that are more than 50 years old and towering 2m high. There are two types of mounds, the more common brownish Cathedral termite and the greyish slab by magnetic termites. After experiencing the skin crawl as a result of observing the termites up close and personal, we took a quick glimpse at Florence Falls, another natural pool to swim in, before heading back to Darwin.

Enroute we stopped at Palmerston and being a Friday night they had a flea market of sorts at the town square. The vibes was great so we stopped for Asian food fare, a beer and dined al fresco with a live band.
