There and back

Nothing invigorates and refreshes you more than leaving behind the familiar.

Although we were only on a 4D3N road trip to next door Malaysia, I had a lot of time to think about matters during our cultural experience in Malacca and shopping and eating therapy in Kuala Lumpur.

Perhaps it was due to the intensity of my study of tourism prior to the trip, I noticed that people do travel to a destination and then figure out activities that suit them according to the needs they want met.

For my brother and his girlfriend, they were looking for satisfaction in indulging in gastronomical delights and spas.

For my mother, it was simply the pleasure of lazing under the comforter on the king-sized bed and watching television all day.

For my four year old son, anything new piques his interest, whether it is the hotel, visit to a museum on board a ship or meeting new people.

For myself, visiting a cultural or historical site was all the highlight I needed.

So even though we spent our time engaged in different activities, we were all contented for the short time spent together as a family.
